Blaise nodded. “Seeing if she’s really okay would be the only way I’d consider a blood oath.”
Thaddeus groaned. “I hate the idea of a blood oath. I detest the control it gives the other party, but if I could see her, I would do it.”
Zelek pursed his lips before nodding. “Very well. Are we in agreement?”
They shared hesitant glances before nodding. “Yes.”
“No.” Sweat trailed down my spine. My entire body felt like it would combust any minute. I had to get up and do something to know that she was okay, but I would never go into another blood oath with him.
“Aziel, you’re so unreasonable, but if you don’t want to see Lilith, so be it.” He barked out a laugh. “As for the rest of you…” He used his fingernail to slice open his palm, and blood oozed out of the cut. Holding it in front of him, he said an incantation in Latin as it dripped onto the clay floor below us.
“Fucking vampires,” I grumbled, and Titan elbowed me in the side. Growling, I snapped my head toward him. “What was that for?”
“They don’t understand what they’re doing. I’m sure he has an ulterior motive. You and I aren’t chained to the pact though, so chill the fuck out.”
I snorted. “She doesn’t need your help.”
One of his thick brows slanted in disapproval. “Stop trying to do shit on your own.”
Zelek’s voice cut off my reply. “I vow to allow you to see Lilith, and in return, you will vow to not attempt to break into Heaven or break Lilith out before a month’s time from today is up. You will also keep Lilith’s angelic abilities to yourselves.”
I tensed. Zelek didn’t say a fucking thing about that before. Surely they wouldn’t…
Thaddeus heaved a worried sigh before slicing his palm with his fang and holding it next to Zelek’s. His blood dripped slower and splattered into the clay next to his. Kai’s face was flushed as he sliced his open, and Blaise did the same with a torn expression.
Once their blood had sunk into the clay, the oath magic combined all parties’ blood in the ritual. A red hue emitted from the blood before it dissipated in the clay completely, a sign that the shackles of the oath were under effect.
I crossed my arms over my chest. Fucking idiots.
“Now that we’ve covered the blood oath, off you go to your duties.” Zelek shot me a grin of victory that sent my heart to my stomach. What angle is he playing it?
“What about seeing Lilith?” Thaddeus raised his brows, and I snorted. I knew there was a fucking catch.
“I vowed to let you see Lilith with magic, but I didn’t specify when. I need to speak with Queen Astral to see when a good time for you to see her would be,” he replied with a flick of his wrist, and he was swallowed by black flames.
We were left in the throne room, and now the three vampires were bound to Hell for the next month.
How the fuck was I going to get Lilith back on my own?
