Warmth encompassed the pain, and he healed me again. His healing power was so contradictory to the snake he was inside. I couldn’t trust a word that came out of his mouth, and there was no fucking reason to help me undress when I was capable of doing it myself.

But who the fuck is he talking about? Queen Astral?

He pulled his hand away, and I brought my knees to my chest to keep covered as I glanced back at him. My blood stained his silver hair from his shoulders down to his waist, and his hands were slick with it. I must’ve lost more blood from my head than I’d thought.

“Are you going to taste my blood the way you did before?” My words slurred from whatever fucking magic was in the bracelet, but the disgust in my tone was crystal clear.

Something dark crossed his face before he stood up and turned on the faucet to the bath before stepping further away from me. “Get cleaned up. There are clothes in the storage drawers underneath the bed. I’ll stay away for a couple of hours so you don’t have to worry about your privacy.”

In a flash of light, he was gone.

What the fuck?

Getting to my feet, I stared down at the bloody mess in the room. I’d cracked my fucking skull open and almost died from a bathtub. I was going to murder whatever bitch made this fucking thing. I scratched at the bracelet again and snorted. How’d I go twenty years of no life-threatening accidents?

Well, other than drowning and getting into a car accident. I meant more life-threatening accidents caused by my own clumsiness. I’d never been fucking clumsy.

I kicked off the boots and yanked the leather outfit the rest of the way down, leaving them in a bloody heap on the floor as I stepped into the cool water. Shivering, I grabbed the dial and turned it to hot. The cool, ankle-deep water started warming up and I sunk down into it.

My skin was caked in sticky blood. It reminded me of after I awakened as a vampire. But this situation was innately different. I released a heavy sigh as the tub filled up, and I shut it off before going under the water and working the blood out of my hair.

I miss them so much. I can’t even imagine the hell Aziel will raise. The guys hadn’t seen Aziel lose his shit yet, and I couldn’t wait to see what they would think of him when he did. I broke the surface and smoothed down my hair. The water was tainted red with flakes of dirt and who knew what else in it. I’d have to take at least three more baths to get clean.

Pulling the plug, I climbed out and grabbed the thin white towel folded on the shelf above the toilet. I wrapped it tight around me before padding over to the bed and pulling out a pajama set. All white. Not fucking surprising.

I flopped down on the bed and started thinking of a way out of this fucking place. Gabriel may have been playing nice, but I didn’t know how long that would last. I had to figure out some way to contact the guys. The only type of magic that could cut off born-powers was blood magic, and blood magic was forbidden in all of the realms, especially Heaven.

What the fuck was Gabriel up to?
