“I know and it is!” Mason insisted, his tone rising urgently. “But I think about it a lot, and I wish we hadn’t stopped when we had the chance. Then, I wouldn’t have to wonder if the rest would be just as incredible.”

Of course it would be.

That was Sky’s luck and proof that he was damned. He had always felt better, safer, happier, and more comfortable when he was with Mason.Everythingwas natural and easy with them, including sex. Kissing and touching Mason had always feltright.Like something they were supposed to be doing. But afterward, Sky was confused and riddled with guilt. He had no reason to feel guilty now, but he doubted he’d be any less confused afterwards.

“This is my fault.” Sky pinched the bridge of his nose. His head ached and his body was sending his brain the worst signals. “None of this would be happening if I’d gotten laid before I came back.”

“Put me in, coach! I can do it and I promise, it won’t be weird.”

“Stop it! The fact that I’m even considering this is weird and fucked-up enough without the sports references.”

“Noted. I’m here and down for whatever you’re in the mood for. Just tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you, no weird strings attached.”

“You’ll give it to me?” Sky repeated faintly, his body burning with need.

“Yup,” Mason said confidently. “Give it some thought and call me or ping me on Grindr, if that’s easier.”

“This is crazy, Mase!” But Sky was thinking about it as he hung up and fell back on the bed. “I amnotdoing this.”

He was not going to accept Mason’s offer and take a shower so he could shave his nether regions and give himself a quick cleanse with the hose. That would be extremely desperate and depraved behavior and Sky was notthat muchof a slut.

“Who the fuck am I kidding? Officially changing my name to Skylar Slutton,” he said as he tapped on the app.

Chapter Sixteen

For a few fraught moments, Mason worried that he’d gone too far and said too much. But he was always afraid that every conversation or text exchange could be their last and that something would push Sky away again. Mason wasn’t even that desperate to get off, he’d rubbed one out in the shower before dinner, thinking about Sky. Which meant that it would take hima whileto finish again if Sky did take Mason up on his offer.

He opened the app with a cocky grin, pleased to see that Sky was back online. That meant Sky was still considering it, so he typed out another message.

A response was on its way and Mason laughed when he noticed that Sky had changed his user name toShySluttin’.

“Please, please, please, please, please!” Mason begged, despite his common sense warning him that he was playing a very stupid game.

He had promised to keep it purely physical and to avoid making it weird. But Mason already knew he would take whatever he could get and treasure every moment and memorize every detail. He already loved Sky, but this would seal off parts of Mason’s heart that would never be open to anyone else again.

He was dooming himself to a lifetime of empty hookups, in exchange for a night of passion with the love of his life.

No worries. It’ll be fine.

“I’d better make it count,” Mason told himself, then swore as he looked in the direction of his bathroom cabinet. There hadn’t been any condoms to hide because Mason hadn’t restocked after his last weekend trip. “It would be so obvious if I ran to the drugstore for condoms at this hour. Fuck!”

Mason said “Fuck!” several more times as he typed out another message.

“I could probably get Sarina to run home with some, but she would have to provide emergency assistance while she was here because Sky would try to kill me.”

His response pretty much confirmed Mason’s suspicions.

“Fair enough,” Mason said with a soft laugh. They hadn’t hung out as long as he had hoped in the kitchen but this was already more fun than any of his past flings.

“Was that too much?” he worried, but didn’t have long to wait.

“Oh, no. He’s panicking and overthinking this.”

“If the part about going bareback didn’t scare him, that probably did, you nitwit.”

Sky’s next response took a lot longer and Mason was on the edge of his seat—mattress—when it finally came through.

“Yes!” Mason pumped a fist, then froze when he realized that his gamble had paid off and Sky was expecting him in fifteen minutes. “Fuck. Now what?”
