“Ohgod, you’re gonna make me come,” she said between gasps of breath.

When his talented digits found her clit, the orgasm started to take hold. She wanted to tell him to slow down, but the intense pleasure was overpoweringly delicious.

“Give it to me,” he gritted out.

“Oh, yes,” she cried out while the spasms rocked her.

“Here I go.” His thrusting increased, he removed his hand from her clit, and he surrendered to the ecstasy.

She loved the primal sounds he made when he came inside her. When he finished, he rested his mouth on her shoulder, dropping several doting kisses on her skin.

“I could do that all night with you,” she whispered.

“So could I.” Slowly, he withdrew, turned her around, and enveloped her in his arms.

As they peered into each other’s eyes, she could deny her feelings, but she couldn’t ignore his. The look in his eyes was all love. His smile warmed her heart. He stroked her cheek with a tender touch, then kissed her softly.

“Being with you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done.”

She loved how transparent he was being, loved that he was putting it all out there, but she was nowhere near ready to disclose her feelings.

Strong hands washed her hair with a gentle touch, but it was the head massage he gave her that made her putty in his hands. Next, she washed him. She loved running her fingers over his hard muscles and smooth skin.

“You’ve got an amazing ass,” she said before kissing his back.

“You’vegot an amazing ass,” he replied.

After toweling off, he parked himself on the bathroom bench while she dried her hair. Rather than get busy on his phone, he watched her.

When she finished, he kissed her cheek, then her mouth. “I really like being around you, Britain. I like it a lot.”

She offered a little smile, then a nod. “Me too.”

Together, they left the bathroom.

“Stay with me tonight,” he said before removing the ring and setting it on the night table.

She had no intention of leaving him.

They dropped their robes and crawled into bed, only this time, she didn’t turn away. She lay her head on his chest, snuggled close. He held her in his arms, stroked her back.

“Computer, lights out,” he said.

Bathed in darkness, she caressed his chest. “You told Liliana’s husband that you got your ring at a pawn shop. Did you?”

“No. It was my dad’s.”

She lifted off him. The moon shone through the window, illuminating him in soft light.

“He was wearing the ring the night he was killed. His handler told me one of Candyman’s guys had given it to him. It was a sign my dad had been accepted into the crime ring.”

“Thank you for telling me.” After dropping a soft kiss on his lips, she lay back down.

He wrapped her in his arms, kissed the top of her head. “Sleep well, Brit.”

Despite the rollercoaster ride they’d been on over the past twenty-four hours, her gut told her she was exactly where she was supposed to be.

Just after fivein the morning, Brit woke to music and a sore throat.
