“Right,” I say flatly, then step closer to her, our chests less than an inch apart while I loom over her. “Seems like we both have things we want to keep to ourselves.”

“I have nothing to share though,” she denies.

“Me either.”

We’re at a standoff, and neither is going to give in. Another thought comes to mind. Even if she doesn’t want to talk about it and admit that something is going on with her, I need to know she’s safe.

“I want to teach you some self-defense,” I blurt suddenly.

“You’re injured.”

“I’m fine.”

“So am I.”

I narrow my eyes at her stubbornness. Moving quickly, I turn her around, pressing her completely against the wall with my body.

“And what would you do if someone had you pinned like this?” I push.

She tries to buck back against me, swinging her arms, but I easily press her harder with my hips and take both her wrists, pinning them up on the wall with one hand. She lets out a frustrated growl.

“Now what?” I question.

“I wouldn’t beinthis situation,” she snaps.

“You are right now.”

“Jokes on you because this is exactly where I want to be.”

Chuckling, I drop my face to her shoulder, nipping her through her shirt hard enough she yelps, but as she moves to try and get away her ass rubs against my groin, where my dick is already hard for her and I groan.

“Seems like you are too,” she sasses. “But someone is missing.”

I want to counter that she’s wrong, but I can’t bring myself to. She wants Grayson here as well, and maybe getting completely lost together is exactly what we both need. Especially since we’re both holding back. And if it’s just the two of us I may end up admitting more than I want to.

“Do you want him here too?” I ask.

Rae nods. “Yeah, but I was going to wait until I’m done with the song. Like a reward.”

I chuckle. “You can take a break. We’re your inspiration, aren’t we?”

CHAPTER 37

Rae

Asher backs away from me, and I try to catch my breath; I swear he has the ability to take it away so easily. I turn around slowly, and he has his phone out typing on it, and then tossing it on the entry table I have.

“He’ll be here soon,” he states simply.

“What do you mean?”

“Grayson.”

My open my mouth to speak, but nothing comes out.

“You wanted a reward? You’re going to get it.”

“I-I’m not done yet, though,” I stutter.
