Nicholas was going back home as a failure. A bum hip and other injuries made it so that after a decade of loyal service, he was being put out to pasture. The problem was that he wasn’t even thirty yet. He had a whole civilian life ahead of him, and Nicholas dreaded it. Until his best friend’s sister was back in the mix and all those old feelings started to come back.
When Lara disappears without a trace, Nicholas will stop at nothing to bring her home. He has one last mission and that is to save the woman he loves.

Lara spent the last decade chasing a dream that she was unable to catch. She had to leave Paris finally, give up her dreams, and go back home to live with her twin brother and sister for a little while until she figured out what she was going to do. Lara was sure that giving up on becoming a fashion designer would be hard, but her mind was distracted from her failure by an old flame. Nicholas was back in town, and the military had turned him into quite the specimen.

Nicholas and Lara are not going to take their second chance at love for granted. Lara falls once again for Nicholas’s good looks and honest personality. She is sure that Nicholas is the only man she will ever need. He makes her feel safe and when she needs him the most, Nicholas is there for her in all ways.

All they have to do is get past those in Lara’s life that want to hold her back. Lara leaves Paris with a few enemies, and they are bound and determined to get what they were promised. Nicholas will have to keep them at bay, protecting her like no one else possibly could.
