To hear of his death has been terrible enough, but the loss of Miss Daisy Williams from London is another difficult blow. Having wanted to marry her, he cannot bring himself to write and receives nothing but silence from her in return.

When they are thrown together, both Daisy and Matthew must find a way to work together to bring the perpetrator to justice.
