“A demon over an angel?” Dean piped up, turning our attention toward him. “Why?”

“Because I fell in love with Aziel. The demon is kind, protective, and loves me. The angel is obsessive, aggressive, and is infatuated by the idea of me.” Her voice was stern but quiet as Aziel stood in front of her.

“And the vampires?” he asked, arching an eyebrow.

“They stole my heart for the same reason.”

“Why couldn’t you love Gabriel too?”

“Because I don’t—”

“I would never want to own only part of her heart,” Gabriel said. “I wouldn’t be satisfied unless I owned the whole thing.”

I scoffed. “We each own all of her heart. That doesn’t fucking make sense.”

“It’s sad that you believe that.”

“It’s true,” Lilith said. “Each fucking one of them own my heart in its entirety. Maybe one day you’ll find true love, but Gabriel, it’s not me.”

“Why can’t you just accept that she doesn’t love you?” Titan snapped, hellfire bursting on his fingertips. “I fucking love her too, but I know she doesn’t love me. I would never force myself on her.”

Lilith sucked in a sharp breath as Gabriel’s eyes darkened, and then a bright light flashed before King Zelek and a tall woman with long, white hair and brilliant white eyes appeared next to us.

“Lilith,” King Zelek said, opening his arms to her. “I’m pleased to see you looking so well.”
