Priamos bowed to us with tears in his eyes. “Thank you all for bringing her home.”
“She’s special to all of us,” I said with a smile. “Of course we’d bring her back.”
“Why do I have a feeling you didn’t just pop in to say hi?” Aziel grumbled. “We haven’t had a real chance to catch up with her yet.”
“I came to say hi,” Baylor said with a tilt of his head and a little wave of his hand.
“But I came on behalf of the other three Kings of Hell.” Priamos lifted his hand up in a wave of surrender. “They’ve requested to speak to Lilith on the whereabouts of King Zelek.”
Aziel let out a deep rumble in his chest before bending over and whispering in her ear, “My beloved.”
Blaise stroked her hair. “Poppy?”
“Love?” Thaddeus traced the palm of her hand.
“Come on, sweetheart.” I rubbed her leg.
A rough groan tore from her throat before she violently flipped herself onto her stomach. “Shh. Five more minutes,” she mumbled.
I chuckled. “Fine. I don’t really give a toss if you keep the three Kings of Hell waiting.”
“Um,” Priamos interjected with a hesitant voice as he padded forward. “Mother, I feel like that’s not the best idea.”
Another cute groan left her lips as she pushed up off the bed and sat back on her knees. Tired, silver eyes raked over everyone in the room before she bobbed her head. “Fine. Let’s go visit my uncles.”
“Uncles?” Thaddeus asked.
“Yeah.” She paused for a yawn and crawled out of bed. Her gorgeous red locks were in disarray, and I reached over to smooth them down. Damn, they felt softer than ever.
“Zelek’s their brother?”
“Unfortunately. But they really hate Zelek. My father always had me do business with them in the past, but I’m sure they didn’t grow fond of him while I was gone. Hopefully, this won’t be a problem.” She pouted, grabbing my wrist and stepping closer to kiss my lips.
She tasted like vanilla, and not like coffee like before. Kissing her back, happiness bloomed in my chest as my heart beat whole once more.
Pulling back, I planted a kiss on her forehead. “Priamos, can you bring Lilith some iced coffee for her meeting?”
“Of course.” His reply was immediate and he disappeared moments later.
Baylor came closer and dropped to his knee. “I’m so thankful you’re all right, Mother.”
She patted his head, and his face reddened. “Thanks, Baylor. Why don’t you go do something for yourself for a bit today? Take the day off.”
He rose to his feet and nodded with a grin. “Yes, Mother. I’ve been wanting to catch up on my reading.”
Baylor left through the portal with a bounce in his step, and she turned to us. “Ready to face the music?”
